Joining Carolina Trust

Am I eligible to join?
Membership is open to residents, businesses and entities of Horry, Georgetown, Marion, Williamsburg and lower Florence County (south of Lynches River). If you live, work, worship, volunteer or attend school in the counties referenced above, then you can join! Relatives of members are also eligible to join our Credit Union.

How do I become a member or open additional accounts?
All Carolina Trust members must open a Basic Savings account with the Credit Union. But don't stop there - consider Carolina Trust for all your checking, savings, loan, and credit card needs.

There are three quick and simple ways to apply for membership or open a Carolina Trust account:

1) Online. Joining the Credit Union or opening an additional account is now easier than ever with our Online Application. You may apply for membership and open any Carolina Trust account in one simple process.

2) By mail. Download the Membership/Account Application. Complete the application, and mail it along with proof of identification and any required deposit (see below) to PO Box 780004, Myrtle Beach, SC 29578-7804. Existing members wishing to open a checking or additional savings account may also contact Member Service at (843) 448-2133.

3) At any branch location. Stop by one of our six branches, and we will assist you personally.

Upon joining the Credit Union, all members - both primary account holders and joint account holders - must deposit $25 each to their basic savings account. This is not a fee but simply the minimum deposit required to keep the account open. There is a one-time $5 membership fee, and it covers both the primary and joint account owner's membership.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Credit Union at (843) 448-2133 to speak with a member service representative about joining the Credit Union or opening an account.

If you would like to open a Carolina Trust business account, please complete the Business Member Application. Other documents will also be required to open a Carolina Trust Business account.
